Indians 5, Red Sox 4: Brandon Guyer scored from second base on a bunt, and the Indians walked off the Red Sox in the opener of a four-game series. Boston coughed up a one-run lead in the eighth inning when Cleveland rallied to tie the game. Guyer opened the ninth with a double. Roberto Perez dropped down a bunt that was fielded by first baseman Brock Holt, who hesitated before throwing wide of third base, enabling Guyer to score.

Athletics centerfielder Herschel "Boog" Powell hit his first career HR ...in Baltimore. He's no relation to John "Boog" Powell, who hit 303 HR for the Orioles and now runs a barbecue pit in Camden Yards. But the two are scheduled to meet for the first time on Tuesday.

Seven pitches into the seventh inning, Andrew Miller is finished. Leaving the game with an apparent injury after brief meeting with Indians manager Terry Francona and a trainer. Miller waited for a while before the inning began while umpire Alan Porter suited up to take over behind the plate, then walked Mookie Betts before going to a 1-0 count on Andrew Benintendi. No clear indication of nature of injury.

Home-plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt is leaving the game one batter after taking a Joe Kelly warmup pitch deflected off catcher Christian Vazquez's glove and hit him in the head. Wendelstedt stayed in the game initially. Being replaced by second-base ump Alan Porter to begin the top of the seventh.

David Price threw off flat ground from 60 feet today in Boston, his first throws since last Tuesday. Assuming no recurrence of stiffness or other issues, he will throw again tomorrow.

Anthony Rizzo was named NL player of the week after hitting .429 with two home runs and 13 RBI's. He slugged .750 last week helping him earn his second career player of the week honors and first since July, 2014. Its the second such honor for a Cub this season following Willson Contreras. Rizzo will be awarded a watch in recognition of the award.
