Make it 7-3 Yankees in the eighth as Brett Gardner doubles home two more runs. Baltimore would drop to 88-73 with a loss. Toronto is 87-73, Detroit 86-73, Seattle 86-74.

Eddie Matz ESPN Senior Writer

Things have taken a turn in NY, where the Yankees have scored in each of the last four innings to take a 5-3 lead over the Orioles in the bottom of the eighth. A Baltimore loss would certainly muddy the wild card waters. The O's currently lead Toronto by a game for the top wild card spot, with Detroit a half-game behind the Jays.

If the Yankees hold this 5-3 lead, then the Wildcard standings would be: Orioles 88-73, Toronto 87-73, Tigers 86-73, SEA 86-74.

Yankees, once down 3-0, just took a 5-3 lead on Baltimore in the eighth on Austin Romine's two-run bloop single to left. AL wild-card race three outs from being even more interesting ...

What we now know in the NL: The Mets will host the Wild Card Game Wednesday. It's Dodgers at Nats in the NLDS next Fri-Sat. And the Giants will play beyond Sunday. In either the Wild Card Game or a tiebreaker Monday in St. Louis

Orioles and Yankees tied at 3-all, but Headley doubles and the Yankees have second and third with one out in the bottom of the eighth.

With the Dodgers losing to the Giants, the Nationals have clinched homefield advantage in the NLDS. That means they get to face Road Clayton Kershaw (2.28 ERA) instead of Home Clayton Kershaw (1.08). It also means that LA has to face Home Max Scherzer (2.23 ERA) instead Road Max Scherzer (3.28). Either way, should be an epic Game 1 match-up.

The Dodgers' defeat means the NLDS between the Dodgers and Nationals opens Friday at Washington.

Dexter Fowler just reached 1000 career hits with a single in the seventh inning against the Reds.

Adam Rubin ESPN Staff Writer

The Giants beat the Dodgers and will take a one-game lead over the Cardinals into the final day of the regular season. If St. Louis wins and San Francisco loses on Sunday, those teams will have a play-in game on Monday at Busch Stadium for the right to face the Mets on Wednesday at Citi Field.

Doug Padilla ESPN Staff Writer

Giants 3, Dodgers 0, Final. The Dodgers continue to struggle with that opposing left-handed pitcher thing. Dodgers have lost four of five since clinching the division.

Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN

Giants magic number at 1; at worst, they would play a Game 163 tiebreaker with the Cardinals Monday. Ty Blach etches a place in SF history.

Yankees rookie Tyler Austin just used that opposite-field power again, belting his fifth homer of the season to right and tying things up with the Orioles at 3-3 in the seventh.

The normally reserved James Loney laughed off his prodigious bat flip after homering Saturday, saying: "I don't even know what I did with it. I don't know if I just dropped it or I flipped it or what. That's nothing ever toward the other team. That's just for your team. That's the excitement that you have. As a hitter, you get out a lot. So there's times in those big moments it's fun to enjoy it." Loney had staked the Mets to a 4-2 lead with a two-run homer in the sixth.

Giants starter Ty Blach can tell his grandchildren some day that all his hits in 2016 (both of them) were off Clayton Kershaw. Pretty cool

Chase Headley just ripped an RBI double into left to bring the Yankees within 3-2 of the Orioles in the sixth.
