WASHINGTON -- Free-agent catcher Chris Snyder has agreed to a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals.

He will report to major league spring training, the team said Saturday on Twitter.

Snyder was 4-for-18 (.222) with one home run and two RBIs for the Nationals in eight spring training games, then was released on March 18.

He spent most of the season in the minor leagues and was 2-for-20 with one RBI in nine games for Baltimore from May 3-25 and Sept. 7-28.

The 32-year-old has a .224 average with 77 homers and 298 RBIs in 10 big league seasons that also included time with Arizona (2004-10), Pittsburgh (2010-11) and Houston (2012).
