Pirates expect to know more about Starling Marte, Francisco Cervelli on Wednesday

PITTSBURGH -- Pirates center fielder Starling Marte was removed after the first inning of Tuesday night's 7-0 win against the Chicago White Sox.

The Pirates characterized Marte's departure as right side discomfort. In the bottom of the first inning, he doubled to left field and later scored.

Also, catcher Francisco Cervelli left the game at the end of the third inning with right forearm discomfort. He was hit by a 93 mph fastball in the bottom of the inning by Reynaldo Lopez.

The Pirates did not have an update on Marte or Cervelli after the game.

"We'll know more tomorrow," manager Clint Hurdle said.
