Jason Bourgeois returns to Astros

CHICAGO -- The Houston Astros reinstated outfielder Jason Bourgeois from the 15-day disabled list before the series opener against the Chicago Cubs on Friday.

Houston optioned outfielder Brian Bogusevic to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Bourgeois, who went on the disabled list June 29 with a strained right quad, is hitting .353 on the season with 17 stolen bases. He has been on the DL twice this season, missing about half of the team's games.

Manager Brad Mills said he's glad to regain the speed that Bourgeois offers.

Bogusevic had just seven hits in 36 at-bats for the Astros.
