Xavier Nady breaks left hand

PHOENIX -- Arizona's Xavier Nady broke his left hand when he was hit by a pitch from the New York Mets' Dillon Gee on Friday night.

The Diamondbacks first baseman was hit on an 0-2 pitch with one out in the second inning. He stayed in the game and later scored, but left when the inning ended.

Nady was hitting .248 in 82 games with 35 RBIs. He was replaced at first by rookie Paul Goldschmidt.
