Dylan Bundy to visit specialist

Baltimore Orioles prized pitching prospect Dylan Bundy will visit a specialist Tuesday because of lingering pain in his right forearm.

Bundy, who has not pitched this season because of forearm and elbow injuries, experienced a setback Monday during his throwing program and was shut down.

The 20-year-old Bundy will be examined Tuesday by team orthopedist Dr. John Wilckens and renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews, according to MASNSports.com.

Bundy consulted with Andrews approximately two months ago and was diagnosed with tightness in his forearm area after an MRI showed no structural damage in his elbow. The right-hander also received a platelet-rich plasma injection at the time.

Bundy was selected fourth overall in the 2011 amateur draft. He made his professional debut last year and pitched two games during September with the Orioles.
