McHugh scheduled for Friday rehab start
Astros starter Collin McHugh (elbow) is scheduled for his first rehab start on Friday. He is expected to throw two to three innings for Double-A Corpus Christi. "It's turning into a normal five-day schedule now," McHugh said of his progress. The 30-year-old indicated it is too soon to target a return date because he is unsure how many starts he will need to feel comfortable.
Stros sign second-round pick
The Astros announced Tuesday afternoon they've signed their second-round draft pick, Archbishop McCarthy HS (Fla.) 3B Joe Perez. Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but the slot for where the 17-year-old was selected, No. 53 overall, is $1.265 million.
AL All-Star voting coming down to the wire
