A decent mix of cheers and boos ahead of Giancarlo Stanton's first at-bat at Citi Field. Some loud ohhhs and ahhhs when the Marlins RF made contact for the first time (a hard foul ball to the stands high behind the first-base dugout), too. After working the count to 3-2, Stanton walked. This is his first game since his six-game home run streak came to an end Wednesday.

Love this from Marlins manager Don Mattingly on Giancarlo Stanton's HRs: "He's got 44 now. If he fell asleep the rest of the year he's going to hit 50."

No on-field batting practice at Citi Field ahead of tonight's Marlins/Mets game. There's a threat of rain -- and maybe the threat of a Giancarlo Stanton upper-deck blast.

Stanton can't extend HR streak, says 61 is goal

After failing to homer in a seventh consecutive game and seeing his bid at a major league record end, Giancarlo Stanton admitted that he's trying to hit 61 home runs this season, which he's currently on pace for.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

It's not every day you reach base three times and the fans leave a little disappointed, but it appears Giancarlo Stanton's streak will end at six games in a row with a home run as he's 2-for-4 with a hit by pitch, singling twice on a blooper and groundball hit and also grounding out twice.

Stats & Info

Judge, Stanton heading in different directions

Aaron Judge was leading the home run pack before the All-Star break, but Giancarlo Stanton has gone above and beyond since then, tripling the amount of homers the rookie has hit since the Home Run Derby.

Stats & Info

Stanton not shy about flexing his muscles

Giancarlo Stanton has 18 home runs since the All-Star break, which is five more than any other hitter and also accounts for more than 50 percent of his hits during that span.

Stats & Info

Stanton primed to finally seize Marlins record

Giancarlo Stanton tied the MLB record for the most home runs through the first 15 days of a calendar month, joining Ralph Kiner (Sept. 1949), Sammy Sosa (June 1998) and Troy Tulowitzki (Sept. 2010), the Elias Sports Bureau notes. He's also one homer shy of tying the Marlins' franchise record for a month, which he also tied in July.

Stanton continues HR streak with 432-foot shot

Joey Gallo hit Tuesday's longest home run, but Giancarlo Stanton remains the talk of the town after hitting a 432-foot homer against the Giants to extend his HR streak to six games.
