ESPN Stats and Information

Jaime García is a low-key addition but one that's a real upgrade to a back-end of a rotation that's been a problem for the team all season. If the Twins, a still-rebuilding team, are to make additions, it should be ones like this one. Prospect Huascar Ynoa was probably on the very bottom of the team's list of Top-25 prospects.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

The Twins picked up Jaime Garcia from the Braves in one of those deals that tells the fans you're trying to make the playoffs ... but you're not really going to give up anything of value as you try to make the playoffs. Garcia is a minor upgrade for the rotation, although we'll see how his game translates to the AL. He's been worth 1.1 WAR for the Braves, so projects to add maybe an extra win for the Twins if he pitches well. No harm in dealing a low-level pitching prospect and it makes everyone feel good.

Source: Twins close in on trade for lefty Garcia

The Twins are in the final stages of acquiring left-hander Jaime Garcia in a trade with the Braves for a minor league player, a source told ESPN, confirming multiple reports.

Another day, another Miguel Sano home run as the Twins continue to surprise. Sano might be the biggest reason. We knew he had big power and would draw walks but he's hitting .272 as well, despite the many strikeouts and low contact rate. There remains some batting average risk but Sano is an excellent long-term power threat, even in an era when everyone's got power, for fantasy owners.

Yankees lose 6-1 to the Twins and have not won a series since a 3-game sweep from 6/9-11 vs. Baltimore. They are now 0-8-2 in their last 10 series, their longest stretch without a series win since going 0-8-3 over 11 series from 8/23-9/30/91.
