Jacob deGrom says he's enjoyed his time as a Met and "would love to play here for a long time," when asked about comments his agent, Brodie Van Wagenen, made to The Athletic. According to his agent, deGrom is interested in staying in Queens, but "if the Mets don't share [the] same interest, we believe their best course of action is to seriously consider trade opportunities now."

Machado trade chips dominate Futures Game

Before Manny Machado arrived for the All-Star Game, the Futures Game on Sunday was a who's who of prospects bandied about in trade talks for the Orioles shortstop and others expected to be moved before the July 31 non-waiver deadline.

Mets fans, meet your potential first baseman of the future: Peter Alonso belts a towering fly ball out to left field and stands and watches it for a few moments. Hopefully, this won't turn into an international incident. Alonso has 21 homers between Double-A and Triple-A, but has hit just .190 at Las Vegas in 23 games since his promotion. Still, he may be the power hitter that Dom Smith may never turn into.

As told to Pedro Gomez, Tim Tebow confirms reports he is dating Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, 2017 Miss Universe: "She is a really special girl and I am very lucky and blessed for her coming into my life. I am usually very private with these things but I am very thankful."

Tebow smacks double in Eastern League ASG

Tim Tebow doubled in his first at-bat as an Eastern League all-star, then watched his East team lose in a hitting competition after the teams were tied at 4-4 following nine innings.

After Jan Hernandez narrowly missed ending this game on a fly out to center — he missed by only a few feet — Tim Tebow, with the tying run on first and one out, struck out on a 90 mph heater. A 1-for-4 day.

We go to the ninth, with the West All-Stars leading the East All-Stars, 4-3. The East will have Tim Tebow's spot due up third in the inning. But due up second? Reading's Jan Hernandez, who hit a two-run homer in the second and has a walk in the game.

Tasked with a two-on, one-out at-bat — his third of this Eastern League All Star Game — Tim Tebow lined out to left field on the first pitch. So two of three solid line drives to the opposite field tonight, and no K's. Not bad.

Tim Tebow's second at-bat: not as pretty as the first. A called strike, a couple of weak fouls, and a ground out on a ball up the middle.

Tim Tebow's first at-bat of the Eastern League All-Star Game is a success, as he takes a pitch the opposite way for a slicing double down the left-field line ... and the crowd loved it.

Tim Tebow's first at bat — as the No. 9 hitter and DH — results in an opposite field double on a 2-1 pitch. The fans love it. Beau Burrows doesn't; he's promptly lifted from the game.

Tim Tebow isn't just an All-Star, he's an All-Star starter. He's batting 9th and DHing for the East in tonight's Eastern League All-Star Game. Also in the East lineup are Rockies prospect Brendan Rodgers and Toronto's Cavan Biggio (son of Craig).
