Wednesday's longest home runs

Just because the Braves and Twins have two of the worst records in baseball doesn't mean their guys can't slug. Matt Kemp and Kennys Vargas paced the competition on Wednesday, while Hunter Renfroe's 413-footer was the first to hit the roof of the Western Metal Supply Co. at Petco.

Hunter Renfroe is off to some start

Renfroe had a home run and four RBIs on Wednesday -- a day after he had two homers and seven RBIs. The last rookie with at least three HRs and 11 RBIs over a two-game span was Fred Lynn on June 17-18 of the 1975 season, per the Elias Sports Bureau.

After 13 years of Petco Park in San Diego, somebody has finally hit a home run on the roof of the Western Metal Supply Co., in a regular-season game anyway. The Padres' Hunter Renfroe, in his seventh career game, crushed one on top of the fourth floor of the brick building down the LF line. Perhaps more of those are coming from Renfroe, who already has four HRs in those seven games.
