Inside the at-bats that decided an epic game

Game 5 of the NLDS boils down to this: Justin Turner vs. Max Scherzer, Anthony Rendon vs. Kenley Jansen and Daniel Murphy vs. Clayton Kershaw.

Stats & Info

Nothing worked for Nats in the seventh

The Nationals used a postseason-record six pitchers in the seventh inning of Thursday's Game 5, but none of the guys they brought in were able to record more than one out. The Dodgers scored all four runs they would need to win.

Joc Pederson had two huge, huge PAs last night. The first one, of course, was the home run that knocked Max Scherzer from the game. The second one was his walk off Oliver Perez in the eighth. That led to Dusty Baker needing to bring in Mark Melancon to get out of the inning. But with the pitcher's spot up first in the bottom of the eighth, Baker had to double-switch Anthony Rendon out the game. The game ended with Wilmer Difo hitting in Rendon's spot. If Perez gets Pederson, he finishes the eighth and it's Rendon facing Clayton Kershaw with the season on the line.
