The 2003 season was the first for the Reds in their $290 million ballpark after Riverfront Stadium was imploded Dec. 29, 2002. It featured the third-largest scoreboard in the major leagues. The custom-grown Kentucky Bluegrass sod was grown within a synthetic plastic micromesh carpet for durability.
