Arenado agrees to 8-year contract with Rockies

Nolan Arenado has agreed to an eight-year contract with the Colorado Rockies, the team announced Tuesday. Sources tell ESPN's Jeff Passan the contract is worth $260 million and includes a player opt-out after the 2021 season and a full no-trade clause.

Nolan Arenado is finalizing an eight-year contract extension worth more than $255 million, league sources tell ESPN. The deal includes an opt-out after three seasons as well as a full no-trade clause. It will give Arenado a record average annual value for a position player and takes the best free agent from next winter off the board.
