The flyweight bout Friday night between John Dodson and Jussier Formiga will determine the division's top contender, UFC president Dana White told ESPN.com.
Dodson (13-5) became familiar to UFC fans last year when he captured The Ultimate Fighter Season 14 bantamweight title.
He returned to his natural 125-pound division this year and defeated Tim Elliott by unanimous decision on May 5.
The highly touted Formiga, formerly known as Jussier da Silva, is 14-1. He makes his UFC debut against Dodson.
The flyweight eliminator will be held at Target Center in Minneapolis
