Longtime UFC heavyweight Cheick Kongo has finished the last fight of his contract and has not been re-signed based on recent performances, according to a UFC official.
The UFC has removed Kongo's profile from its website, although it has yet to make an official statement on the 37-year-old fighter (18-8-2).
Kongo recently suffered a first-round knockout loss to Roy Nelson at UFC 159 in Newark, N.J. He made his UFC debut in July 2006 and holds an 11-5-1 record in the Octagon.
The French heavyweight had won three of his past four fights heading into the Nelson bout but failed to look spectacular in doing so. He suffered a first-round KO loss to Mark Hunt at UFC 144 in February 2012.
