Uriah Hall to fight Nick Ring

Middleweight Uriah Hall, who was a highly touted participant on Season 17 of "The Ultimate Fighter", will face Nick Ring on Aug. 17 in Boston, UFC officials announced Thursday night.

A deft striker, Hall dominated his opponents en route to the Season 17 final, where he lost by split decision to Kelvin Gastelum. The New York City resident has a professional record of 7-3. His only other losses have been to UFC middleweight contenders Chris Weidman, who faces titleholder Anderson Silva in July, and Constantinos Philippou. Those setbacks occurred during Ring of Combat competition in New Jersey.

Weidman and Philippou are ranked third and ninth, respectively, among 185-pound fighters by ESPN.com.

Ring also will seek to get back in the win column. In his most recent fight, March 16 against Chris Camozzi in Montreal, he was on the wrong end of a split decision. A Season 11 TUF participant, Ring is 13-2 as a pro. The two losses have come in his three most recent outings.
