Jorgensen was originally scheduled to meet Ian McCall on Dec. 14 at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, Calif., but McCall withdrew this month due to injury. UFC officials announced Dodson as his replacement on Tuesday.
Dodson (15-6) is just 10 days removed from a first-round knockout over Darrell Montague at UFC 166 in Houston. December will mark his third appearance of 2013.
In January, Dodson came up short in his first UFC title bid, dropping a unanimous decision to 125-pound champion Demetrious Johnson.
Jorgensen (14-7) will make his flyweight debut on the heels of a 1-3 skid in his last four fights. A former Pac-10 wrestling champion at Boise State University, he fought for the WEC bantamweight title in 2010, losing to Dominick Cruz via decision.
