Spurs defeat Brooklyn 130-101. Here's San Antonio Spurs guard Patty Mills on coach Gregg Popovich calling out the squad after the loss Friday night at Chicago: "It shouldn't take him to do that. We have so many professional guys and veteran guys on our team that it shouldn't take him to do that. But it definitely affected everyone to know that you've got to lace them up here and do what we do. No more messing around. It was only one game. And one game that we probably have been more consistent throughout the 48 minutes than other games. We've done it now. It's just about trying to do it more time than other teams. It's almost like beating a dead horse. He's told us multiple times. It wasn't just that particular game. He's told us all season. So it shouldn't take him to do whatever he did to get us going. We're old enough. We're veteran enough."

LeBron James on the state of the CBA negotiations: "We got to stay optimistic ... We still got a few days."

Biggest thing that jumps out watching Jazz all week in person -- even more than on TV: Rudy Gobert got awesome. Playing with such force.

Harrison Barnes on the Rockets hitting 19 3s: "It was just one of those nights."

The Bulls sneak out with a win. Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade combine for 59 points. Bulls have got to find more answers offensively, though. This is too much of a burden for Butler and Wade to carry all season.

Rockets extend their winning streak to a season-high six games with a 109-87 win over Dallas. Houston made 19 three-pointers, second highest total this season. James Harden had 16 assists, one shy of his career high. He also was one rebound shy of a triple-double. He had 18 points.

Justin Verrier ESPN Staff Writer

The Pelicans, who will be without six players tonight in Los Angeles, will have lost 90 games this season after tonight, including 64 as a result of injury or illness (not counting Lance Stephenson, who was waived after suffering a groin injury).

ESPN Stats and Information

LeBron James had 44 points and 10 assists in a win over the Hornets. He has 9 games with 40 points and 10 assists in his career. Over the last 30 seasons, only Allen Iverson has more (12). Iverson joins Russell Westbrook, Damian Lillard and James Harden as players with a 40-10 game this season.

Dave McMenamin ESPN Staff Writer

Cavs beat the Hornets 116-105 to win their fourth straight and improve to 17-5. LeBron James, on the 2nd night of a b2b, finishes with 44p on 17-of-24 10a 9r 3s 1b; Kevin Love 22p 6r 3s; Tristan Thompson 13p 12r; Iman Shumpert 16p on 5-of-8; Kyrie Irving 11p on 4-of-13 5a. CLE shot 57.5 pct, their best percentage of the season.

Dave McMenamin ESPN Staff Writer

Olympic gold medalist gymnast Simone Biles came to the Cavs game tonight.

The Rockets have made at least 10 three-pointers in a NBA record 23 consecutive games. In the 22 previous games, Rockets were shooting 37.6 percent from three averaging 14.1 threes a game. Tonight against Dallas, Houston has made 15 three-pointers.

ESPN Stats and Information

The Warriors have trailed by as many as 30 points. Only two NBA teams have come back from a 30-point deficit over the last 20 seasons: The Kings overcame a 35-point deficit against the Bulls in December 2009, and the Lakers overcame a 30-point deficit against the Mavericks in December 2002.

Nick Friedell ESPN Staff Writer

Dwyane Wade scored 11 points in the third quarter and has 22 on the night. He carried the Bulls offensively in stretches and looks pumped up to play against his former teammates. As usual, Wade and Butler doing the heavy lifting for Bulls.

Calvin Watkins ESPN Staff Writer

Houston leads Dallas, 86-69, after three quarters. Rockets have made 14 three-pointers. Trevor Ariza and Eric Gordon have combined for nine 3s.

Tim MacMahon ESPN Staff Writer

Memphis' David Fizdale is a strong frontrunner for December coach of the month honors. Minus two max players, the Grizzlies are 5-0 and up big on Golden State.

ESPN Stats and Information

The Pacers rallied to beat the Trail Blazers and became the second NBA team to overcome a 20-point deficit to win this season. The other team is the Hawks, who did it against Bucks on Friday night.

But sources on both sides expressed confidence tonight that a deal, despite Carmelo Anthony's pessimistic forecast, remains within sight.

The NFL's union, for example, has control over licensing/player likenesses. The NBA's union has been known to covet the same for some time.

ESPN Stats and Information

The Warriors trail by 23 points. The last time the Warriors trailed by at least 20 points at halftime was Dec. 3, 2013, at the Rockets (61-37, 24 points). Golden State has led an opponent by at least 20 points at the half 32 times since then.

ESPN sources say control over licensing and player likenesses has emerged as a significant issue in the latter stages of NBA labor talks.

Michael C. Wright ESPN Staff Writer

Spurs bench outscoring Brooklyn's 22-8. Patty Mills and Dewayne Dedmon with 5 apiece, but Jonathon Simmons is leading the unit with 7 points on 3-of-5 shooting.

Justin Verrier ESPN Staff Writer

Anthony Davis will sit out tonight's game in Los Angeles against the Clippers because of rest. It will be the second missed game this season for Davis, who has also missed parts of three games.
