The Hawks select Alpha Kaba with the 60th and final pick of the 2017 draft. Since Isaiah Thomas was picked last in 2011, two of the five players picked in this spot have managed to play in the NBA: Cory Jefferson (2014) and Robert Sacre (2012).

Notre Dame's Steven Vasturia is scheduled to work out for the Hawks, per league sources, following recent workouts with the Nets and Knicks. Vasturia, a 6-5 guard, has also worked out for the 76ers and Lakers in addition to playing well in front of NBA decision-makers at the Portsmouth Invitational. Vasturia has a strong resume: he's just the 2nd player in Notre Dame history to score more than 1,000 points have more than 300 assists and hit more than 85% of his free throws. Vasturia's workout with the Knicks included his Notre Dame teammate, V.J. Beachem, per league sources. Beachem, a 6-8 200-pound forward, scored 14.5 points per game for the Irish and his 36% of his 3-point attempts last season. Vasturia's Knicks workout was first reported by Basketball Insiders. The Knicks own two second-round picks (44 and 58) and have been working out several players who should be available when New York makes those selections.
