Research Notes

  • Paul Pierce struggled from 3-point range against the Knicks, partly due to his inability to make open jump shots. Pierce was 1-of-11 on unguarded catch-and-shoot jumpers in the series, and overall shot 24.2 percent on the catch-and-shoot in the 2013 playoffs.

  • Paul Pierce was 1-of-9 from the 3-point line in Game 6 and struggled from long range in the series, shooting 26.8 percent on 3-point field goals. It was Pierce's lowest 3-point percentage in the last six postseasons and second lowest of his career.

  • NEXT LEVEL: Tyson Chandler may have been the Knicks MVP in their 1st Round series. With Chandler in the game, the Knicks outscored the Celtics by 56 points but they were minus-24 with him on the bench. The Knicks outrebounded the Celtics by 28 and shot 41 percent on 3-pointers with Chandler on the floor, but when he was on the bench the Knicks were outrebounded by 8 and shot 23 percent on threes.
