Research Notes

  • Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 23 points in Game 2. However, Duncan had only three touches on the offensive end in the 4th quarter after averaging 11 touches the first three quarters.

  • Danny Green defended Stephen Curry on 8 field goal attempts, forcing him to drive on 5 of those attempts. Curry finished 0-of-8 from the field against Green in Game 2 and is now 1-of-13 against him in the series (57.1% FG vs all others). As a team, the Spurs were able to limit Curry's jump shots in Game 2 and force him to drive to the basket more often. Only four of Curry's 11 second half attempts were jump shots after he went 4-of-7 on jumpers in the 1st half. Curry was 2-of-8 on drives to the basket in Game 2.

  • Klay Thompson attempted the most catch-and-shoots in the regular season, shooting 43.8% on those attempts (league average: 38.7%). On Wednesday, Thompson went 6-of-6 on catch-and-shoots, all from 3-point range. Thompson was 7-of-27 on 3-point catch-and-shoots this postseason entering the day.
