Mavs SG Wesley Matthews looks sleek compared to last season. "I'm down probably eight pounds, and a lot of it is just being able to train," said Matthews, who was recovering from a ruptured Achilles' tendon a year ago. "You've got to understand that at this time last year, I wasn't able to run, wasn't able to move around."

An interesting stat to help explain why some NBA teams appear overrated or underrated on media day: minutes played in 2015-16. The Memphis Grizzlies' current roster played just 12,993 minutes in the NBA last season, putting them at the bottom left below. New York and Brooklyn are the two other teams below 15,000 2015-16 minutes. Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz's current roster played a league-high 23,717 minutes last year.

And yes, this was the Doc Rivers trick...the difference here was how quickly the Cavs players asked for their $ back 😂😂😂

Andrew Bogut dismisses concerns about increasing his minutes. "I've never had an injury from playing too many minutes," Bogut said. "It's always been car-wreck type of collisions. I've walked under too many ladders, I guess."

There's more of Anthony Davis to watch this season. The Pelicans star, who was listed last season at 6-foot-10, said on the team's in-house podcast that he's now technically 6-foot-11. "They measured us like a week and a half ago and they said I was 6-11, which I don't want to be. I think 6-10's like the perfect height for me." Davis also said he's up five pounds to 250, but that he wants to see how he plays during a real game at that weight.
