Los Angeles Lakers point guard D'Angelo Russell is a big fan of new Lakers head coach Luke Walton, to say the least. "He's one of the best people I know, as far as off the court," Russell said Wednesday. "We communicate on and off the court as much as possible. I feel like I can call him anytime. He's not a head coach that will sit back and watch other coaches and colleagues train other players. He's always involved. He'll get out there and play with you if he wants. It's just great, man, having a young coach like him in the building." Walton replaced Byron Scott, who was let go this summer after coaching the Lakers for two seasons.

Anthony ranked tied for second in a rookie survey from NBA.com that posed the following question: "Who is your favorite player in the league?" Anthony, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook all received 9.4 percent of the vote. Kevin Durant (29.7 percent) was the runaway winner. Stephen Curry surprisingly finished outside of the Top 10.
