EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Knicks center Dikembe Mutombo left with a groin injury during the first quarter of the Knicks' game with the New Jersey Nets on Friday night.
Mutombo, who played for the Nets last season, played four
minutes before walking off the court. He had two points and two
fouls, including one for pushing off on the opening tipoff.
Mutombo was being treated in the locker room before the game for
a groin problem.
The center, who had played in seven games before Friday night, was averaging 6.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks a game.
