Lakers' Profit out 4-6 months after Achilles surgery

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Los Angeles Lakers swingman Laron Profit had surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles' tendon in his
left foot Friday.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Dan Kharrazi of the
Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, and the Lakers said recovery time
for Profit's injury is expected to be approximately four to six
months, meaning it's possible he could return late in the season.

Profit was injured in the fourth quarter of Tuesday night's
112-90 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. He scored eight points in
15 minutes before being injured.

Profit, averaging 4.2 points, 1.7 rebounds and 11.2 minutes in
25 games, was acquired by the Lakers from Washington last summer
with Kwame Brown for Caron Butler and Chucky Atkins.
