LeBron's mom pleads not guilty to several charges

AKRON, Ohio -- LeBron James' mother pleaded not guilty Monday to several charges, including drunken driving and disorderly conduct.

An attorney for Gloria James, 37, entered the plea on her behalf. She will have a pretrial hearing Feb. 6.

Two off-duty city officers working security for the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority said Gloria James' 2004 Cadillac Escalade almost hit their unmarked vehicle Friday night.

When stopped, she smelled of alcohol, struggled as officers handcuffed her and kicked the window of a city patrol car off its track, police said.

She was charged with reckless operation, driving 50 mph in a 30 mph zone, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, disorderly conduct and damaging police equipment.
