Bol, wife arrested, charged with disorderly conduct

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Former NBA player Manute Bol and his wife have been arrested after a fight at their West Hartford home, police said.

Bol, 45, and his 27-year-old wife, Ajok Kuag, were charged with disorderly conduct Sunday. Police said they were arrested after arriving at the police station to file complaints against each other.

The 7-foot-7 Bol and Kuag told police they had a verbal dispute that turned physical, but neither was injured.

A native of the Sudan, Bol and played college basketball at the University of Bridgeport. He spent 11 seasons in the NBA with four teams and retired in 1995.

Bol was critically injured in June 2004 in a taxi crash on Route 2 in Colchester. The driver was killed, and an autopsy later showed he had been drunk.

Bol spent more than three months in hospitals for treatment of head wounds, a broken neck and other injuries. He still walks with a cane.
