Warriors reduce roster to 15, waive forward Taft

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Golden State Warriors waived forward
Chris Taft on Friday, reducing their roster to 15 players.

Taft was a second-round draft pick in 2005, but the former Pitt
star never overcame injury problems to make a mark with the club.
He played in just 17 games last season while struggling with
chronic back pain, which required season-ending surgery on a
herniated disc last March.

Taft couldn't play in any of the Warriors' preseason games this
month for new coach Don Nelson because of muscle inflammation.
