Kobe issued two technicals, earns first ejection of season

SEATTLE -- Kobe Bryant was ejected during the third quarter of Sunday night's game in Seattle after picking up a pair of technical fouls while the Los Angeles Lakers led by 31 points.

The Lakers ended up winning 111-91.

Bryant was given his first technical by Brian Forte with 4 minutes left in the quarter after Bryant appeared to complain about a foul not being called as he chased an offensive rebound. Afterward, Bryant claimed he didn't say anything to Forte on the first technical.

Forte then retreated into backcourt, but Bryant followed, continuing his complaints. Moments later, Forte handed Bryant a second technical and an early trip to the locker room.

"I'm disappointed, but I'm not going to comment on the official," Bryant said. "I don't want to get fined anymore."

While Bryant wouldn't call out Forte, coach Phil Jackson had no problem.

"I told him, 'You shouldn't jump on junior. His dad might carry a grudge against you,'" Jackson said regarding veteran official Joe Forte, Brian's father.

The Lakers led 88-57 at the time. It was the first ejection this season for Bryant, who had 21 points and 10 assists.
