BROOMFIELD, Colo. -- Sonny Weems scored 25 points, Joe Dabbert added 21 on 10-for-10 shooting and the Colorado 14ers won the NBA Development League title with a 123-104 victory over the Utah Flash on Friday night.
"We have veteran players who understand what they need to do to get it done in this league," 14ers coach Bob MacKinnon said. "They understand that winning helps you get to that next level. We've preached it all year, and they've responded."
Josh Davis also scored 21 points for Colorado, a 136-131 overtime winner in Game 1 of the best-of-three finals. The 14ers, a league-best 34-16 in the regular season, beat Erie in the first round and knocked off Austin in the semifinals.
Morris Almond and Kevin Kruger each scored 18 points for Utah, and J.R. Giddens added 17 points and 15 rebounds.
