Chauncey Billups held out vs. Warriors

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Denver Nuggets point guard Chauncey Billups sat out Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors with a strained left knee but is hopeful he won't miss any more time.

Billups says he expects to play Thursday in Denver against the Dallas Mavericks. He was injured early in the first half of Denver's 108-103 loss against Houston on Monday night and didn't return.

An MRI on the knee Monday showed no serious damage. Billups says he had no idea how he got hurt, only that it was a non-contact injury.

Ty Lawson and Anthony Carter were expected to split time at point guard in Billups' place.
