Kevin Durant (ankle) to start vs. Hawks

ATLANTA -- NBA leading scorer Kevin Durant is starting for Oklahoma City against the Atlanta Hawks despite a sprained left ankle.

Durant took part in about half of the Friday morning shootaround, then tested the ankle again about an hour before the game and declared himself fit enough to play.

The All-Star forward was held out of practice Thursday and it seemed doubtful he would play against the Hawks. He rolled his ankle Wednesday night when he stepped on Tyler Hansbrough's foot driving to the basket against Indiana.

Coach Scott Brooks says he wouldn't risk playing Durant if his health was an issue. He's averaging 28.4 points a game.
