The committee (of one) can't wave a wand and manufacture a playoff berth for the Orlando Magic, no matter how much we'd like to.

All we can do, in ESPN.com's last batch of NBA Power Rankings until October, is bestow a top-10 spot on the Magic to reward their ambitious attempt to make the playoffs after falling 20 games below .500.

Starting with a March 10 rout of Cleveland, Orlando is 16-4 and hasn't lost in April, racking up victories over Dallas, Detroit, Miami and San Antonio -- the latter two on the road -- in the process. That forced the Chicago Bulls to go 10-2 since March 22 to clinch the last available playoff spot in the East before Monday night's Magic-at-Bulls matchup.
