That double-overtime epic dropped at home to Phoenix earlier this month didn't exactly derail the Dallas Mavericks' season.

The team that has maintained a stranglehold on the top spot in ESPN.com's weekly NBA Power Rankings for eight successive weeks is only off to a 5-0 start on a six-game road trip, with a last stop Tuesday night in Oklahoma City.

Texas teams, meanwhile, occupy three of the top four spots now that the Houston Rockets have risen to No. 4. The Rockets, remember, can't be seeded higher than No. 5 in the West playoffs because they're third in the Southwest Division, but they still can seize home-court advantage in their forthcoming first-round series with Utah if they finish with a better record.
