The Los Angeles Lakers -- with an assist to Kobe Bryant's hometown Philadelphia 76ers, who upset Boston in OT on Friday night -- have responded to last Monday's demotion by completing a five-game road trip with a 4-1 record and making a quick return to the top spot in ESPN.com's weekly NBA Power Rankings.

Other prominent upward movers include the Dallas Mavericks (No. 8 to No. 5) and Phoenix Suns (No. 9 to No. 6), while Boston slips to No. 2 thanks to their unexpected setback at home against the Sixers.
