For the second consecutive year, the NBPA is having a heart screening of former players at the Toyota Center today. Doctors will be on hand to provide heart screenings, blood work among other things for former players. Matt Bullard, a former Rocket, who does color on the local broadcast, plans on attending. "It's very important," Bullard said. "As we get older we start to have a few more health issues. When we were playing, we were as healthy as we could be. As you get older the health issues start to pile up."

The families will receive a 25-pound box of food, 10-pound box of personal care items, Avon products, children's books by Disney and Lego toys. "We wanted to help as many families as we could," Brewer said. "All over Houston."
