Celtics ended the first quarter on an 11-2 run, including outscoring the Bulls by six after Isaiah Thomas went to the bench. Chicago led by as much as eight but Boston up 23-20 after 12 minutes.

Celtics couldn't make a 3 early in the quarter, but Avery Bradley gives them spark on both ends. So underrated. Boston leads after first despite going 3-12 from deep.

The Hawks will return home looking to stave off elimination but they'll do so with their young point guard playing his best basketball of the series. Dennis Schroder had 29 points and 11 assists while making five-of-six 3-pointers in Game 5. Atlanta hopes that playing at home will also be more comfortable for Kent Bazemore and Ersan Ilysova. The two reserves combined to shoot 4-for-18.

Bradley Beal (27 points) says Washington will have to play with a better IQ than it did in the two previous losses at Atlanta in order to close the Hawks out in Atlanta in Game 6. "We got to the same focus we had at home," Beal told TNT after Washington won Game 5. "We came out in Game 3 (in Atlanta) with a lack of focus. Same thing in Game 4. We played hard but didn't have the IQ that we needed to win. So we got to have the same approach that we had tonight, be physical and play smart."

Markieff Morris has eight points but three fouls. And Paul Millsap has nine points and six rebounds but also three fouls. That matchup, and who stays out of serious foul trouble, could very well decide Game 5. Marcin Gortat continues to be invisible offensively with zero points while Otto Porter has been active on the glass and going to the line but hasn't been able to make an impact with his shot yet.

Wizards used a 21-9 run in the second quarter to erase a 7-point deficit and go into the half up 50-49. John Wall sparked the Wizards with six points, two assists and one offensive rebound during the run.

Dennis Schroder is playing with a ton of confidence and hasn't backed down from John Wall since Wall's scorching start in this series. The Hawks point guard has picked up where left off in Game 4, drilling the outside shot by making his first four 3-pointers and has 14 points already.

John Wall has snapped out of his cold start, hitting two shots in a row, one while drawing the foul for a three-point play. And Wall hits Markieff Morris for a crowd-pleasing alley-oop. Morris is off to his best start in this series since Game 1 with eight active points.

Ohm Youngmisuk ESPN Staff Writer

If you're going to have to have one of your stars struggle at start, I'd think the Wizards would settle for John Wall getting off to a slow start while Bradley Beal comes out playing desperate and hot. Wall missed his first three shots, has two turnovers and is scoreless. Wall, who does have five assists, will keep attacking and eventually get to the rim. Beal, though, relies on his jumper and rhythm and has 12 points already. Beal is also active defensively with two steals and a block so far.
