Strong comments from Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson on their recent trade that sent D'Angelo Russell, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 draft, to Brooklyn: "D'Angelo is an excellent player. He has the talent to be an All-Star. We want to thank him for what he did for us. But what I needed was a leader. I needed somebody also that can make the other players better and also [somebody] that players want to play with."

Since Knicks "don't like what I have to say," Charles Oakley didn't really want to answer my questions for him on the team's issues. This is as much as he told me, though: "If you don't run stuff right, it ain't going to be right. It ain't about how much money you got. It's structure, putting people in the right place. Sometimes stuff just clicks with certain people. You can't keep treating people bad and expect something good to happen.

Asked diehard Knicks fan, actor and BIG3 sideline reporter Michael Rapaport about the hat he's wearing. What he said: "Please mention I wore my Knick hat with pride the day after the draft. I believe we're going to come out on the other side of this. New York is always the Mecca. And it always will be the Mecca. We have to get on the other side. The fans, they can't take but so much."

Asked the one player he wants to one day play with in the BIG3, Allen Iverson says: Kobe. "That's like one of the dreams. I always played against him. To play with him, that would be a special moment for myself, my family, my friends, for the fans. And definitely my kids."
