Coach David Fizdale purchased 500 tickets for the Grizzlies' season opener to be distributed to fans. He will give away the tickets on a first-come, first-served basis at approximately 1 p.m. Tuesday in the FedEx Forum grand lobby.

In a surprise move, the Rockets released veteran guard Pablo Prigioni to reach the 15-man roster limit according to a source. With the veteran Prigioni gone, the Rockets will stick with younger, inexperience guards behind James Harden and Eric Gordon. Bobby Brown and Tyler Ennis are the backup guards and last year's starting point guard Pat Beverley is out until December with a knee injury.

The Grizzlies finalized their roster by waiving G Jordan Adams and C Matt Costello. Adams, a 2014 first-round pick recovering from knee surgery, had a guaranteed salary but was cut to make room for undrafted rookie F Troy Williams.
