For the fire Jeff Hornacek crowd: hard to put this one on the coach. The Knicks allowed Detroit to shoot 50 percent in the second half and moved the ball much less in the final 24 minutes.

Clippers guard Milos Teodosic will undergo an MRI to discover severity of left foot injury, league source tells ESPN

Kristaps Porzingis felt he was fouled on his drive to the basket with under a minute to play that ended in an Andre Drummond block. He said he felt someone pull his arm down before the block. The Knicks were down 3 with 37 seconds to play at the time of the block.

Clippers announce that Milos Teodosić will not return to tonight's game vs. the Suns due to a left foot injury.

Clippers guard Milos Teososić carried to the locker room with an apparent left leg injury. Austin Rivers on the floor to replace him.

That's it for the Thunder as the starters take a seat down 15 with 1:32 left. Westbrook finishes with 6 points on 2-11 shooting, plus 7 turnovers (13 rebounds and 9 assists). The only game last season Westbrook scored in single-digits was the final one, where he only played in the first half against Denver. Melo finished with 26, George with 22.

Stephen Curry tells ESPN: "I didn't throw my mouthpiece at the ref. I got better aim than that. I threw it out of frustration."

Royce Young ESPN Staff Writer

Things nobody said last season: The Thunder are making a comeback with Russell Westbrook on the bench. Down 73-57 to start the fourth, the second unit plus Melo have cut it to 76-69.

The Thunder finally shook loose a bit in the third offensively, but it was the other side that became problematic. Utah leads 73-57 headed to the fourth. George with 19, Melo 17, but Westbrook with only 3 on 1-9 shooting (12 rebonds and 8 assists though). Westbrook is clearly trying to navigate a new world of managing his aggression with his two new teammates.

LeBron James had 22 points on Saturday but had a plus-minus or minus-31 in 31 minutes in the Cleveland Cavaliers' surprising 114-93 loss to the Orlando Magic.

Pistons 111, Knicks 107: New York falls to 0-2 after letting a 21-point first-half lead slip away. Kristaps Porzingis was fantastic for much for the night, pouring in 33 points on 20 shots. He made just four of his final 13 attempts though. Tim Hardaway Jr. struggled with his shot, missing 12 of 16. Tough night for Jeff Hornacek's club, which gave away a winnable game.

Chris Haynes ESPN Staff Writer

Stephen Curry has just been ejected for going off on the ref. Kevin Durant was given the boot as well.

Ian Begley ESPN Staff Writer

Kristaps Porzingis passed up an open three with the Knicks down three and 30 seconds to play. He instead drove but was rejected at the rim by Andre Drummond. Detroit is in control here, up five with eight seconds to play.

Ian Begley ESPN Staff Writer

Point guard play has hurt the Knicks in the closing minutes. Ramon Sessions took a 3-pointer early in the shot clock with the Knicks down one with around three minutes left and then fouled Reggie Jackson on an And-1 two minutes later. Detroit up 3 with 45 seconds to play.

Nick Friedell ESPN Staff Writer

That's it from Chicago — Spurs beat Bulls 87-77. Bulls just don't have enough talent to win on most nights, but they do play hard so they have that going for them.

Royce Young ESPN Staff Writer

Four straight scores (three from Melo, one from George) and the Thunder are up to 34 points at half. They're fortunate to just be down 10 to the Jazz. George has 11, Westbrook has only 2, but 10 rebounds, Melo has 10 on 5-14 shooting.

Ian Begley ESPN Staff Writer

Interesting test for Kristaps Porzingis here: he checks in with the Knicks down one with about nine minutes to play. How much of an impact can he have down the stretch of a winnable game here?

Royce Young ESPN Staff Writer

There's 3:33 left in the second quarter. The Thunder have 19 points. And somehow, it's looked even worse than that.

Chris Haynes ESPN Staff Writer

At the end of three quarters, the Golden State Warriors are down 88-71 to the Memphis Grizzlies. Stephen Curry has five fouls and Golden State is out of sync.

Chris Haynes ESPN Staff Writer

Stephen Curry, the only Warriors player who has it going offensively, has picked up his fifth foul with 2:16 remaining in the third. He exits the game with his team down 14.

Memphis Grizzlies pouring it on the Golden State Warriors. They have their biggest lead, 74-56.

Royce Young ESPN Staff Writer

Really ugly opening quarter for the Thunder in Utah. Just 14 points, and while a lot of it had to do with missing some pretty good looks -- especially in the paint -- the lack of flow is noticeable.

Ian Begley ESPN Staff Writer

Stan Van Gundy has put Anthony Tolliver on Kristaps Porzingis to start the second half and the Knicks have gone scoreless in the first 3:30. Detroit cuts a 13-point halftime lead to six.

The Clippers home opener is today against the Suns despite beating the Lakers at STAPLES Thursday night. They are featuring Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Patrick Beverley, Danilo Gallinari, Milos Teodosić, Lou Williams, and Austin Rivers on their home arena posters this season. The Clippers have covered the Laker banners each of Doc Rivers' five seasons as head coach in an effort to establish the Clippers' home arena identity.

Frank Ntilikina was asked if it's frustrating to miss the home opener due to a sprained ankle. "It is a little bit," the rookie guard said. "I want to be out there and play and get experience and just play basketball. But now I got to be strong mentally and do the best for my body and do the best I can do for my body and my career." Ntilikina's ankle sprain doesn't seem serious. He said it was feeling much better on Saturday, a little more than 24 hours after the sprain. He can run back and forth but has trouble moving laterally. He hopes to play on Tuesday against Boston. Ntilikina missed all Summer League games with a knee injury and sat out of New York's final four preseason games due to a separate knee ailment.
