Dwyane Wade reflected on LeBron James' first game back to Cleveland as an opponent in 2010: “That night? That was a movie. But what stands out to me most is that LeBron had 38 at the end of the third. To watch him, obviously I was sitting next to him in the locker and it was the one game where I just kept looking over at him because I knew what was out there, what was waiting for him and just to see how he was acting and how he was responding and to see him come out there with that focus, that excitement to play that game and to perform like that, to have 38 at the end of the third and sit out the whole fourth was one of the best performances I've watched him put on. Not the best, one of the best.”

Marcus Smart on not reaching an extension with Celtics: "‬We thought it was close from the fact that we didn't ask for much. … But they just weren't budging." Smart will be a restricted free agent after the season and will use that as motivation. "It just makes it an even bigger year for me. Unfortunately it's the business. This won't be the last time somebody is in this situation and just play it out and see how the year goes."

A source familiar with LeBron James' thinking tells ESPN that James is a "total game-time" decision. Tuesday marks 20 days since James sprained his left ankle. Here's what Dwyane Wade had to say about tonight after James went through shootaround Tuesday morning: "We all expect, everyone around expects him to play because that's what he does. But at the same time the decision's on him. He's going to make the right decision for what he feels is best for the long haul season. We've been preparing like he's going to be in there, we also have to be ready if he's not."

Kyrie Irving asked why he wanted a trade out of Cleveland: "I will never pinpoint anything because that's not what real grown-ups do."

During an appearance on the Road Trippin' podcast, Cavaliers guard Isaiah Thomas, addressing comments he made about not wanting to talk to Danny Ainge again, said he was disrespected by not being alerted to a possible deal. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich to Dave Zirin of The Nation on president Donald Trump: "This man in the Oval Office is a soulless coward who thinks that he can only become large by belittling others. This has of course been a common practice of his, but to do it in this manner–and to lie about how previous Presidents responded to the deaths of soldiers–is as low as it gets. We have a pathological liar in the White House: unfit intellectually, emotionally, and psychologically to hold this office and the whole world knows it, especially those around him every day. The people who work with this President should be ashamed because they know it better than anyone just how unfit he is, and yet they choose to do nothing about it. This is their shame most of all."

A Cavs source tells ESPN that Kendrick Perkins' "weight and game look like his early OKC days" as CLE's G-League affiliate, the Canton Charge, signed Perkins on Monday. The Cavs believe Perkins can be a hybrid player/teacher for a team this season, in the mold of Nazr Mohammed, Nick Collison and Elton Brand. Cavs coach Ty Lue has discussed adding Perkins to his coaching staff should he not find a situation where he can play. Make no mistake, Perk prefers to play though. "After not playing a whole year, I think I did pretty well for myself in training camp and when my number was called," Perkins told ESPN at the conclusion of the Cavs' preseason. "I thought I came out and contributed and it felt good, man. It felt good."
