Luke Walton on if Magic Johnson's presence changes how he coaches: "We have our vision and our goal of what we're trying to do, and we've had great talks. But that's one of the great things about working with Magic: He's said multiple times he's not going to come down here and try to [coach]. Coaching is my job and my staff's job. Like why would he in his job try to come down here and tell us how to coach and what he thinks we should do? We're doing the same stuff down here. Yeah, we definitely bounce ideas off each other, what he sees. Of course I value the opinion of someone that is one of the all-time greats in this game. But it's not going to change the way that we coach the team."

Luke Walton on if the Lakers players act differently when Magic Johnson is around: "I noticed him being there for sure. He's one of those people that when he's sitting there two rows up, you notice him. And I enjoy it. I like it. But as far as how it makes the players feel, you have to ask them."

Armstrong, said that he and Rose understand that the Knicks were operating in their best interests when talking to opposing teams about a Rose deal before the trade deadline. "So as you can see, through all the reports, there were teams that were interested in him and what he does and what he brings to the court."

Derrick Rose's agent, B.J. Armstrong, reiterated on Saturday that Rose "wants to be in New York" after the Knicks included the player in trade discussions prior to the trade deadline on Thursday. "Like I've said all along, and like he's said all along, you know what, he wants to be in New York. He feels comfortable there," Armstrong said on Sirius XM NBA radio. "But we understand the business."
