It's a bit surprising to me that Courtney Lee was removed from the starting lineup. The biggest issue with the starters was consistent effort on defense and that didn't seem to be a problem for Lee. I'm interested to hear Jeff Hornacek's reasoning on this after the game.

Regarding the starting lineup, Jeff Hornacek said he planned to start Kristaps Porzingis at C today if he was healthy, with Carmelo at power forward. That would have moved Joakim Noah, presumably, to the bench. Porzingis is out with a sore left Achillies so Noah is starting.

ESPN Stats and Information

James Harden reached 1,000 points and 500 assists on the season in his 43rd game, tying Tiny Archibald (1972-73) and Oscar Robertson (1964-65) for the second-fewest games needed to reach that threshold in a season (via Elias Sports Bureau).

Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Ron Baker are starting for the Knicks today, alongside Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.

ESPN Stats and Information

In 17 head-to-head matchups, LeBron James and Kevin Durant have scored the same amount of points. But James holds a big advantage in wins.

The Knicks say that Kristaps Porzingis' availability is still to be determined. He's officially listed as questionable (sore left Achillies).
