Knicks (9-7) beat a Clippers team that has now lost nine in a row. What a mess in Los Angeles. Six players in double figures for the Knicks, led by Kristaps Porzingis (25 points). Doug McDermott had 16 points off the bench, which included some key threes.

The Mavericks close the gap on the Celtics at the half, but still have no answer for Kyrie Irving. He's got 25 points on 9-10 shooting, including 4-4 from 3. Irving missed his only shot at the halftime buzzer. Boston up 53-49, as they look for their 16th straight win.

The Knicks are up by 20 and brief but loud ‘We want Beasley' chants have broken out in the upper bowl at MSG.

Reiterating the Jarrett Jack point: the Clippers cut the Knicks' 17-point lead to two in the third when Jack picked off an errant pass, pushed the ball and found Doug McDermott for a 3-point field goal. A few minutes later, he drove and found McDermott again for another 3 to increase New York's lead to 12.

End of 1 in Dallas. Celtics up 33-22. Kyrie Irving (and his mask) getting whatever they want on offense with 17 points on 6-6 shooting in 1st quarter. Jaylen Brown with 12 points.

The Knicks would be in a bad place tonight - and this season, probably - without Jarrett Jack. The veteran PG has 7 points and 3 assists against the Clippers; he just spearheaded a 10-0 New York run in the second quarter.

The Lakers are keeping tabs on free agent Mindaugas Kuzminskas. According to sources with knowledge of the team's thinking, the Lakers, in need of perimeter shooting, are doing their due diligence and met with the forward recently while they evaluate their wing depth.

The Clippers have opened the second quarter hitting 5 of their first 6 shots, including both 3-point attempts. Jeff Hornacek doesn't seem pleased, calls a timeout just three minutes into the quarter.

The first 12 minutes of Knicks-Clippers featured 13 turnovers, 11 fouls and 19 misses shots. Not the most entertaining quarter of basketball. It will be interesting to see how Blake Griffin and Kristaps Porzingis adjust to one another over the course of the game.

Ian Begley ESPN Staff Writer

Tough test for Kristaps Porzingis tonight: he's matched up against Blake Griffin and trying to shake off a shooting slump. He's made one of his first four (a post-up over Griffin) and has two early turnovers.

Kyrie Irving going through warmups here in Dallas. Celtics going for 16 in a row tonight.

LeBron James has 16 points on 6-for-7 shooting early on. The Cavs lead 25-18 with 3:48 to go in the first quarter in Detroit. He has his 3-ball working, going 3-for-3 from deep so far.

Stefano Fusaro ESPN

Jaylen Brown, still playing with a heavy heart after the passing of his best friend, is coming off a career high 27 on Saturday in Atlanta. Brown and the Celtics go for 16 wins in a row tonight in Dallas.

Scott Brooks says John Wall (sore left knee) will play tonight vs. Bucks. Brooks does not expect Wall to play minutes in the high 30s tonight.

Jeff Hornacek on one of biggest differences on offense between last season and this season: "I think it's probably more ball movement and body movement. This group of guys, there are some really good guys who cut off the ball," he said, mentioning Tim Hardaway Jr., Courtney Lee and Tim Hardaway Jr. as strong cutters. "We're not standing around as much, having one guy just go to it. We have to be careful that, sometimes when KP gets the ball in there that we're not all just standing there, watching. We're trying to work on that of cutting from the weak side and keeping constant movement so teams can't double him."

Jeff Hornacek cautions that he's not a doctor but says Tim Hardaway Jr. may be dealing with plantar fasciitis in his foot.
