Celtics up 10 proves they don't need Isaiah OR Cavs staying w/in 10 proves they don't need LeBron. Which take is more 🔥🔥? Discuss....

Celtics weren't able to take advantage of LeBron James sitting out last 6:46 with four fouls. Lead stayed at 10 as Kyrie Irving got hot with 10 points in that span.

Kyrie Irving kept the Cavs afloat after LeBron James checked out with 4 fouls, scoring 12 of Cleveland's final 14 points of the half. But Boston still has the same 10-point lead it had when James left the game. The Cavaliers are 3-22 all-time in the postseason when trailing by at least 10 at halftime.

The Cavs were down 10 when LeBron James went to the bench. They briefly fell down by 16, they briefly cut the lead down to six and ultimately head into the half down by 10. Things could be worse, for sure.

One game after his seven 3-pointer outburst, Marcus Smart has missed all three shots he's taken in the first half but he's still a team-best plus-15. Smart doing an excellent job initiating the offense in Isaiah Thomas' absence.

Rare lineup here for the Cavs because LeBron James is saddled with four fouls: The starting group minus James and with Deron Williams instead.

Brian Windhorst @WindhorstESPN

LeBron has never had 4 fouls in the first half in his career. Only had 3 playoff games with 4 fouls over last two years.

Dave McMenamin ESPN Staff Writer

The most fouls LeBron James had in a full game in the last two postseasons was four. He picked up four in a quarter and a half tonight.

LeBron James picked up his fourth personal foul with 6:46 left in the second quarter on a charge into Terry Rozier. If the Cavs are going to come back, they'll have to do it without James for a long stretch.

LeBron James picks up his fourth foul with 6:46 remaining in the 2nd Q and the Cavs down by 10. He wanted adversity and he certainly found it.

Anyone expecting a big bounceback game from the Cavaliers is still waiting, with Cleveland trailing 29-19 after 1 in Game 4. The Cavs' Big 3 of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love accounted for 17 of the team's 19 points in the quarter, though all three are being outscored by Boston's Jae Crowder, who scored a game-high 10 points in the opening frame.
