According to the Orange County Register, Knicks team president Phil Jackson will be in Los Angeles on Friday, attending the unveiling of the Shaquille O'Neal statue at Staples Center. Also on Friday: the East Regional at MSG and the UCLA-Kentucky game in Memphis. Knicks GM Steve Mills, and not Jackson, will reportedly attend the game in Memphis.

Rick Carlisle on J.J. Barea's flagrant 2: "Watching [Blake] Griffin's cat-ate-the-canary smile tells you the story of that play. That's all you have to look at."

The Knicks lost for the 7th time in 8 games, but this may have been the first game they have actually tanked in the traditional sense. No Carmelo, Derrick Rose or Lance Thomas tonight. New York is tied with Sacramento for the 6th worst record in the NBA.

Dirk Nowitzki said the flagrant 2 ruling against J.J. Barea was "just weak. ... It's tough to tell these days in this league what's a flagrant 1, what's a tech. I'm lost, and I think so are the refs."

Knicks engineer an 8-0 run in the third quarter to cut Portland's lead to 13. Nice job by a lineup featuring Kyle O'Quinn, Justin Holiday and Rob Baker.

Wow. I hope the 'trade Carmelo' crowd watched the first half of Knicks-Blazers. New York, without Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose, is down 21 and has allowed 67 points.

Mavs 97, Clippers 95 (final). J.J. Redick jumper at the buzzer was long. Seth Curry (23 points, 4 assists) starred as Dallas' starting PG.

Class of 1998 Reunion: No. 9 overall pick Dirk Nowitzki and No. 10 Paul Pierce have been guarding each other for a stretch of this tight second half in Dallas ...

This is a good opportunity for Mindaugas Kuzminskas to show what he can do in extended minutes. Tough start for both Kuzminskas and Billy Hernangomez on defense thus far; Knicks trail the Blazers, 10-4, and Portland has gotten easy looks after defensive miscues from both rookies.

J.J. Barea was called for a flagrant 2 and tossed after a push to the neck that sent Blake Griffin sprawling. Barea laughed at the ruling.

DeRozan shot difficulty since Lowry injury has been ludicrous, but he and Raps making it work. Great D. Delon Wright getting interesting.
