Celtics took extremely good care of the basketball through the first two games of this series. In Game 3, four first-quarter turnovers didn't help the team's offensive woes. Cavaliers pushed their lead as high as 19 in the frame.

The pregame coaches comments on the narratives coming into Game 3 mimicked one another. Tyronn Lue on the Cavs being 0-2 in the series: "We're not discouraged. We're ready for Game 3. 0-2 doesn't really mean anything." Brad Stevens on the Celtics being 1-4 on the road so far in the postseason: "We've only played five games [on the road in the playoffs]. I think it's a pretty small sample size."

George Hill and JR Smith combined to go 1-for-11 from 3 in Games 1 and 2. They are 2-for-4 from 3 in the first quarter of Game 3 so far.

Bob Delaney, the former longtime official/VP of referee operations and director of officials, will be awarded the Presidential Medallion when he addresses the graduating class at his alma mater, New Jersey City University, on May 22 in Newark. It surely will be an entertaining address since Delaney is a terrific public speaker full of incredible stories from his NBA days and the nearly three harrowing years he served as an undercover state trooper assigned to infiltrate the New Jersey organized crime scene in the mid-1970s.

Celtics guard Shane Larkin traveled to Cleveland with the team but there is still no timeline for his return. Said Larkin: "I can get my arm above my ear, so that's finally there." Noted Brad Stevens: "I still don't anticipate him being available any time in the near future. He's still sore." Larkin got injured in Game 4 of the 76ers series.
