One of the best quarters of the year here for the Bulls in the 3rd. Outscored the Cavs 32-20. Butler scored 13 of his 16 in the third. Bulls ramped up the defensive intensity as well.

James Harden has struggled with his shot in the second half of the season. He's made four of 18 shots from the floor and is 1 for 11 for 3 in the two games. He still has 24 minutes to go.

At the break and the Rockets are rolling past the Wolves, 66-58. Rockets second unit goes on 16-0 run after Wolves cut their deficit to one. Rockets with 20 points off 15 turnovers.

Huge shot by Carmelo Anthony, who drills a baseline jumper over Robert Covington to give New York a one-point lead with 0.3 seconds left. Anthony has 37 points on 25 shots tonight against Philadelphia.

A Sixers team that's without Joel Embiid has overcome an 11-point deficit entering the fourth quarter to take a one-point lead with nine seconds left on the Knicks. If NY loses this game, it will have found a new low in a season full of them. The Knicks have final possession here.

Ian Begley ESPN Staff Writer

The Knicks held an 11-point lead earlier in the fourth but it had been cut to three when Derrick Rose found an open lane and converted a layup to widen the cushion. He bailed on any triangle set that was planned and just attacked the rim.

Rockets haven't trailed against the Wolves and lead, 35-28, after one quarter. Rockets playing with lots of energy. Ryan Anderson with eight, Clint Capela has six and James Harden with six assists.

Anthony Davis follows up a 12-point quarter with a 15-point one as DeMarcus Cousins sits most of the second with foul trouble. Davis has 27 points (13/22), 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in all to help push the Pelicans ahead 49-47 at half.

"We want Baker" chants picking up here at Madison Square Garden. That's a reference to reserve guard Ron Baker.

Nick Friedell ESPN Staff Writer

Dwyane Wade is enjoying his time playing on the national TV stage. Wade is 6-for-9 and has 14 points in 15 minutes. Bulls getting used to a lot of new lineup combinations tonight with Cam Payne and Joffrey Lauvergne making Bulls debuts.

The Knicks' infusion of triangle offense has worked well for one night. Granted, they're playing a Sixers team without Joel Embiid, but they've hit 51 percent of their shots and have 18 assists on 34 made baskets. New York is up by 13 early in the fourth quarter.

Justin Verrier ESPN Staff Writer

DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday combine for 28 of the Pelicans' 30 points and 13 rebounds, but Mavs (50% from 3) rally back when Cousins goes out. Pels up 30-24 after one quarter in Dallas.

Things have gotten strange with Derrick Rose and his 'joke' about taking a trip to Chicago. Rose said twice to reporters on Friday that he had to take a flight to Chicago. A Knicks spokesman said Rose was joking. Rose on Saturday said he didn't want to talk about the issue saying only "I'm here bro" and that he "wasn't trolling." Bizarre. It seems like Rose intended to go to Chicago yesterday. We'll let you come up with your own theories as to why he didn't go. Rose, of course, was fined by the Knicks for leaving the team without explanation and going to Chicago in early January, missing a game against the Pelicans.

As he did in first half last night, Jimmy Butler is struggling. Butler is 0-for-5 in the first quarter and hasn't found a rhythm. He has contributed in other ways though -- he has seven rebounds and three assists.

Ethan Sherwood Strauss ESPN Staff Writer

Kevin Durant's left pinky is swollen and he will miss tonight's game against the Brooklyn Nets. "It's not anything we were going to mess around with," Kerr says

Justin Verrier ESPN Staff Writer

The Pelicans open Game 2 of the DeMarcus Cousins era 5-for-5 from the floor, with 4 assists (two of which from Cousins).

Anthony Morrow, who changed his number to 11 before Saturday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, acknowledged that Derrick Rose "has a strong, cult-like following. He's from [Chicago] so I get it." Via my colleague Ian Begley, Rose responded to the uproar caused fans on social media: "I respect it," Rose said. "I definitely respect it as an athlete, person. and for someone that I felt like I gave my all not only to that franchise and the city."
